1. Scope

1.1 This Cookie Policy is referred to in the Terms of Use and the Terms of Sale. It is a notice explaining the cookies and similar technologies used on the Platform and does not form part of any contract with you. Capitalised terms used but not defined in this Cookie Policy have the meanings given to them in the Terms of Use.

1.2 This Cookie Policy is published in English and in Arabic. For consumers in the United Arab Emirates (the “UAE“), the Arabic version prevails if the two versions differ.

1.3 This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the Platform by NEXTAURA 360 L.L.C-FZ (“we“, “us” or “our“), the purposes for which they are used, how long they last and the choices available to you. It applies to the website at onebasket.ae and to the One Basket mobile app.

1.4 Personal Data collected through cookies and similar technologies is processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy, which should be read together with this Cookie Policy. In this Cookie Policy, “Personal Data” has the meaning given to it in the Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

2.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Each time you return to the website, or move from one page to another, your browser sends the cookie back to the website, which allows the website to recognise your device and to remember information about your visit.

2.2 Cookies may be classified as follows:

  1. by duration: a session cookie is deleted when you close your browser, and a persistent cookie remains on your device until it expires or is deleted;

  2. by origin: a first-party cookie is set by the website you are visiting, and a third-party cookie is set by a different domain, usually in connection with content or a service embedded in that website; and

  3. by function: a strictly necessary cookie is essential to provide a service that you request, while other cookies are used for purposes such as analytics, personalisation or advertising.

2.3 “Similar technologies” are technologies that store or access information on your device in a comparable way, including local storage in a browser or a mobile app, device identifiers and tokens. In this Cookie Policy, references to cookies include similar technologies unless the context requires otherwise.

3. How we use cookies

3.1 We use only cookies that are strictly necessary for the Platform to function. Strictly necessary cookies are those without which a service you have requested, such as signing in to your Account or keeping Products in your cart, cannot be provided.

3.2 We use cookies for the following purposes only:

  1. to keep you signed in to your Account as you move between pages, and to recognise you as the Account holder when you return within the period described in clause 4; and

  2. to retain the Products you have added to your cart so that you can review them and proceed to checkout.

3.3 Because these cookies are strictly necessary to provide the services you request, they are set when you use the relevant features of the Platform, without a separate consent request.

3.4 We do not use cookies to build a profile of you, to track your activity across other websites or apps, or to show you advertising.

4. The cookies we use

4.1 The table below lists every cookie set by the Platform.

Cookie Name Type Purpose Duration
Sign-in cookie wordpress_logged_in_[hash], wordpress_sec_[hash] First-party; strictly necessary Keeps you signed in to your Account and identifies your signed-in session to the Platform For the browser session; or up to fourteen (14) days if you select “Remember me” when signing in
Cart cookies wp_woocommerce_session_[hash], woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart First-party; strictly necessary Retains the Products in your cart woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart: until you close your browser; wp_woocommerce_session_[hash]: up to two (2) days

4.2 A cookie listed in clause 4.1 expires when its duration ends. Signing out of your Account ends the signed-in session to which the sign-in cookie relates.

4.3 We will update the table in clause 4.1 before any cookie is added or any duration is changed.

5. Mobile app equivalents

5.1 The One Basket mobile app does not use browser cookies. It uses equivalent technologies, which serve the same strictly necessary purposes:

  1. Sign-in storage: the app stores sign-in information on your device so that you remain signed in to your Account. This information lasts for fourteen (14) days, after which you must sign in again, and the signed-in session ends earlier if you sign out; and

  2. App notification token: where notifications are enabled on your device, the app generates a token that identifies your device so that we can send you notifications about your Orders, returns, refunds and Account. The token is delivered through Expo, our notification service provider, and is used only for that purpose.

5.2 You may disable app notifications at any time in your device settings. Doing so stops notifications from being delivered to that device but does not affect service communications sent to you by email.

5.3 The app notification token is kept until you log out of the app or the Account is closed. Its processing is described further in the Privacy Policy.

6. No analytics or advertising cookies

6.1 We do not use analytics, performance, functionality, preference, personalisation or advertising cookies, and we do not permit any third party to set such cookies through the Platform.

6.2 We will not introduce any cookie that is not strictly necessary unless we first:

  1. update this Cookie Policy to describe the cookie, its purpose, its provider and its duration; and

  2. ask for your consent, through a consent mechanism presented on the Platform, before the cookie is placed on your device.

6.3 If we introduce cookies that require consent, you will be able to refuse them, and to withdraw any consent you have given at any time, without affecting your ability to use the Platform or place an Order. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the use of cookies before it.

7. Third-party content and services

7.1 The Platform displays text using web fonts delivered by Google. When a page of the Platform loads, your browser connects to Google’s servers to retrieve those fonts, and in doing so transmits your IP address and information about your browser to Google. This connection is used only to deliver the fonts. It does not involve the setting of any tracking cookies on your device, and Google is listed as a recipient of Personal Data in the Privacy Policy.

7.2 When you leave the Platform to use a third-party service, such as the payment page of our card payment provider, the Tamara instalment service or WhatsApp, the operator of that service may use its own cookies and similar technologies. Those cookies are governed by that operator’s own cookie and privacy policies, and not by this Cookie Policy.

8. Managing cookies

8.1 Most browsers allow you to view the cookies stored on your device, delete them, and block cookies from all websites or from particular websites. The operation of these controls varies between browsers.

8.2 If you block or delete the strictly necessary cookies described in clause 4:

  1. you will not remain signed in to your Account;

  2. the Products in your cart will not be retained; and

  3. you may be unable to complete an Order through the website or to use other features that depend on those cookies.

8.3 In the One Basket mobile app, signing out ends the signed-in session described in clause 5.1(a), and deleting the app removes the information it stores on your device.

8.4 Because the Platform uses no analytics or advertising cookies, no third-party opt-out tools are required to manage cookies on the Platform.

9. Changes to this Cookie Policy

9.1 We may amend this Cookie Policy from time to time, including where we change the cookies we use. The amended version takes effect when it is published on the Platform, except that a material change takes effect for Account holders fourteen (14) days after we notify them of it by email under clause 9.2. The “Last updated” date at the top of this Cookie Policy shows when it was last revised. You should review the Policies, including this Cookie Policy, regularly.

9.2 We notify Account holders of any material change to this Cookie Policy by email. Clause 6 applies before any cookie that requires consent is introduced.
